Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWD)

Reservation of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWD) guidelines set by the Government of India. In instances where candidates in these categories are not available, vacancies will be filled from the panel of candidates attending the walk-in-interview. This approach is adopted to ensure the continuity of essential services of the Medical College and to fulfill the norms outlined by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Important Notes for Contract Professor ESIC

  1. Temporary Engagement: If suitable candidates are not available for faculty positions in a particular reserved category, meritorious candidates may be offered engagement for a period of 44 days, at the discretion of the Appointing Authority.
  2. Provisional Vacancies: The number of vacancies listed is provisional and subject to change based on actual vacancies, without prior notification.
  3. Cancellation of Recruitment: ESIC reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process at any stage, at its discretion. Such decisions will be binding on all concerned parties.
  4. Multiple Applications: Candidates intending to apply for multiple cadres must submit separate applications, along with the required fee for each application.
  5. Documentation for Reserved Categories: Candidates applying under OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PWD categories must possess valid certificates issued by competent authorities. These certificates should be valid for appointment in Central Government Institutions and should be obtained before the date of the interview. Failure to provide valid documentation may result in the candidate being treated as a UR candidate.
  6. OBC Reservation Requirements: Candidates claiming reservation under the OBC category should submit their community certificate in the prescribed format, as specified by the Government of India, Department of Personnel and Training, vide O.M No 36036/2/2013 Estt. (Res.) dated 30.05.2014. Certificates issued in other formats will not be accepted, and the candidate will be considered as a general category applicant for all purposes.

Pay and Allowances for Professor ESIC

Consolidated Remuneration Structure:

  • ESIC has adopted a consolidated remuneration structure for Contractual Faculty, as per Headquarters Letter No. Z-17/11/1/2007/Med-IV (Pt. file), dated 13.04.2022 & Z-11012/51/2022-MEDVI, dated. 08.12.2022.
  • The monthly amounts (plus TA & DA on TA as applicable) are as follows:
    1. Professor: Rs. 2,11,878/-
    2. Associate Professor: Rs. 1,40,894/-
    3. Assistant Professor: Rs. 1,21,408/-

SRESTA Scheme for Retired Army Doctors:

  • Retired Army Doctors (Teaching – Broad Specialty) meeting the eligibility criteria for Faculty posts under the “SRESTA” Scheme are eligible for the following pay:
    • Assistant Professor (Consultant):
      • Rs. 1.2 Lakhs if post-PG experience is under 3 years.
      • Rs. 1.42 Lakhs if post-PG teaching experience is 3 years or more.
    • Associate Professor (Consultant):
      • Rs. 1.42 Lakhs if post-PG experience is under 6 years.
      • Rs. 1.88 Lakhs if post-PG teaching experience is 6 years or more.
    • Professor (Consultant):
      • Rs. 1.88 Lakhs if post-PG teaching experience is under 9 years.
      • Rs. 2.0 Lakhs if post-PG teaching experience is 9 years to under 13 years.
      • Rs. 2.2 lakhs if post-PG teaching experience is 13 years or more.

No Additional Allowances:

  • Apart from the consolidated remuneration mentioned above, no other allowances like D.A, N.P.A, HRA etc. will be payable.

Prohibition on Private Practice:

  • Private practice is not permitted during the tenure of service in ESIC.

Eligibility for Applicants:

  • Retirees from Central/State Govt./PSUs from equivalent posts are eligible to apply.
  • Individuals working in recognized/approved private medical institutions and meeting the eligibility criteria for the post may also apply.

Terms of Contract for ESIC Recruitment 2024

Duration and Extension:

  • Selected candidates will be appointed purely on a contractual basis for one year, with the possibility of extension for one or two more years based on satisfactory performance, subject to approval by the Competent Authority. The contract will be terminated upon the joining of a regular incumbent.

Termination and Notice Period:

  • Either party can terminate or discontinue the contractual engagement by providing one-month notice.

Continuation and Appraisal:

  • The continuation of the incumbent will depend on satisfactory annual appraisal and approval by the Competent Authority. Other terms and conditions will be applicable as issued by the competent authority from time to time.

Absence and Duty:

  • Absence for a period exceeding 15 days without prior permission/approval of the Competent Authority will be considered as abandonment of duty, leading to the termination of the contract without notice, and forfeiture of the security deposit.

Automatic Termination:

  • Absence from work for fifteen days without proper permission from the competent authority will result in voluntary abandonment of engagement and automatic termination. Medical Officers are required to mark attendance manually and on the Aadhar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) daily during scheduled working days.

Banking Requirement:

  • Upon selection, the candidate must open an SB Account in the State Bank of India (SBI), if not already held in an SBI branch.

Contractual Agreement:

  • Teaching Faculty must enter into a contractual agreement on a stamp paper of Rs.200/-.

No Claim for Regularization:

  • Selected candidates will not have any claim for regularization of services in ESIC Hospital/Medical Institution.

Medical Fitness:

  • Appointment is subject to the candidate’s medical fitness.

Consent Letter:

  • Selected candidates must submit a written acceptance/consent letter before undergoing the medical examination.

Misconduct and Negligence:

  • Doctors found guilty of gross misconduct or negligence in their duties will be terminated without notice or payment in lieu of notice.

Joining Requirement:

  • Selected candidates must report for joining within the specified date indicated in the offer of appointment; failure to do so will result in cancellation of the offer.

Attire Requirement:

  • Officials must wear their own white coat with a name badge during duty hours.

Amount Required:

  • The required Caution Deposit for each post is as follows:
    1. Professor: Rs. 2,11,878/-
    2. Associate Professor: Rs. 1,40,894/-
    3. Assistant Professor: Rs. 1,21,408/-

Deposit Procedure:

  • The candidate must deposit the Security Deposit amount mentioned above for the respective post through a Demand Draft in favor of ESI Corporation payable at Kalaburagi at the time of joining.
  • This deposit is refundable upon completion of the contract period and submission of a “No Dues Certificate”.

Appropriation of Caution Deposit:

  • If the appointed candidate terminates their contract within six (06) months of the date of reporting, the Caution Deposit will be appropriated towards the ESI Fund to cover administrative costs.
